A project can index many sources. Every source goes through the same pipeline — fetch, normalize to markdown, chunk, embed — so all your knowledge is retrievable through one chat and search surface, and every answer cites the exact page, ticket, or video it came from.

Add a source

1

Open your project's Sources tab

In the dashboard at app.beforequery.com, open your Project → Sources and click Add source.
2

Pick a source type

Choose from the connectors below. Each type has its own short setup guide covering the credentials it needs.
3

Connect and sync

Fill in the connection details and click Add — the first sync starts automatically. When it finishes, browse the results under Documents and test answers in the Playground.
Only workspace owners can add, edit, or delete sources. See Roles & Permissions.

Keeping content fresh

  • Webhooks — git pushes trigger incremental reindexing for GitHub/GitLab sources.
  • Schedules — daily, weekly, or manual sync per source; use the Sync button on any source card for an immediate refresh.
  • Change detection — content hashes ensure only changed pages are re-embedded.

Organizing sources

Group sources into named collections to model docs versions, product lines, or public-vs-internal content — and scope retrieval per surface. See Source Groups & Sync.
